I started calculating how many person-hours of blogs have been created since we started a few weeks ago. For the calculation, I assume the average person types 40 words per minute. In typing, a word i considered 5 characters.

It would take a person over 250 hours to type all of the blog information generated so far typing 40WPM!

Anyway -- all this typing on blogs and I can't get 1 comment on the news! (laughs)

I've made some changes to the look of the lists on the front page -- I'm hoping they look fine on your browser. Also, I added a "Top 100 Recently Updated" list if you click the ...more link on the front page.

For those with newer browsers, you can click on the "Recent" link in the top Blog Bar to see a list of recently updated Blogs.

This makes it easier to browse around the site. I will work on improving this and adding more features to it in the future.

UPDATE: I modified the "Recent" link in the top right so it lets the page load faster.

Please leave a comment on this post and let me know if the link works or not. You should see a large list of the most recent posts in a popup box. If it looks funny or does not come up at all please let me know. Most IE/Firefox browsers should work. Please let me know what OS and browser you are using if you know also, thanks!

I was playing around with the site and just added a "floating" interests page.

It should work on most modern browers -- if you click on "Interests" in the area on the right, you should hopefully see a small popup "area" that shows you all of my interests, along with a close button and hotlinks on all of the keywords. Click on any of the terms and it should take you to the user search area.

Improved the User Interest Search, which lets you find other members that have similar interests to you.

For example, click on the Profile link over to the right just under my picture. In the "Interests" area for me you will see a list of items in blue. Click on an item, such as "piano", and it will pull up a list of other members that have entered piano as well.

Your profile can be updated by clicking the Edit link in the My Account area next to Profile.

Just added -- User "Interests" search. Go to a users profile and you can now click on the individual items in a users interests. This will bring up a list of users with similar interests.

If you have not set your interests you should go do that ASAP. You can get there by going to My Account and clicking on Edit next to your profile.

This will help people location you and your blogs.

While not perfect, the search works pretty well, even if your interest is not an exact "text" match with someone elses, it attempts to match it up.
